PROFILE

The INSTITUTE OF MEAT PRODUCTS – IPK was founded in 2018 and stands as an independent entity.

The aim of the initiative is to fill the gap that exists in individual research actions of the State, the development actions of all those involved, but also to address the lack of consumers᾽ information about common issues, that concern the processing and characteristics of meat products.

In particular, the aim of the IMP is to:

–  bring together science and government bodies, with the business community of the meat processing industry and the wider meat sector

–  act as a center for lifelong learning

–  act as a center for research, development and technological monitoring of the issues that concern the businesses that support it

The President of the IPK during its first period of operation (2018-2021) was Prof. Apostolos Rantsios.

For the current period  (2021-2024) President of the Institute is Dr. Veni Gkiza, Veterinarian.
